Up the mountain – the Pyrénées

Well,  after a couple of rather long diversions because of closed mountain passes, here we are at the same ski station visited in the summer for 6 great days at Font-Romeu. A small ski area by Alpes standards, but certainly enough to get the knees going. Also unlike many larger resorts, Font-Romeu caters for all – skiers & boarders, walkers, Langläufers, and just children making snowmen. All within a few metres of the carpark. And the real bonus? The little advertised fact that if you’re 70 or over, skiing is free! 😊

About a close as you can get to the slopes!
There’s certainly plenty of snow up here at the moment. Not the biggest of ski areas but plenty to get the knees working again.

Bobby adores the snow!

Where to now?

Wonderful light on a long morning walk up the mountain along trails the resort prepares so well.

Font-Romeu is at the eastern end of the Pyrénées-Orientales.
